Notes: Orissi was re-expanded by Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra in the updated period. It is considered to be one of the oldest surviving dance forms based on archaeological evidence which was born out of the dance of the Devadasis dancing in the temple. Odissi dance is mentioned in inscriptions. It is depicted in the inscriptions of the Brahmeshwar temple.
