Prime Minister announces USD 450 million Line of Credit to SriLanka

Making his first overseas visit as the newly elected SriLankan President, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, arrived in New Delhi yesterday on a three-day visit to India, met the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind today, November 29, 2019.

After a fruitful meeting with the SriLankan President, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a USD 400 million line of credit for development projects in SriLanka and a separate USD 50 million for dealing with challenges of terrorism.

Both leaders had discussed issues focusing on ways to boost security, concerns of the fishermen, fulfilling aspirations of the Tamil community in SriLanka and bilateral trade ties.
