Centre includes Gangotri and Yamunotri in Uttarakhand, Amarkantak in MP and Parasnath in Jharkhand under PRASAD

The Centre has included Gangotri and Yamunotri in Uttarakhand, Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh and Parasnath in Jharkhand under a central scheme to develop pilgrimage and heritage destinations in the country. The scheme aimed at infrastructure development such as entry points (road, rail and water transport), last mile connectivity, basic tourism facilities like Information/ Interpretation Centers, ATM/ money exchange, eco-friendly modes of transport, lighting and illumination with renewable sources of energy, parking, drinking water, toilets, cloakroom, waiting rooms, first aid centers, craft bazars /haats/ souvenir shops/ cafeteria, rain shelters, telecom facilities, internet connectivity etc.

Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba releases book titled ‘Blue Waters Ahoy!’

Admiral Sunil Lanba, Chief of the Naval Staff, released a book ‘Blue Waters Ahoy!’- authored by Vice Admiral Anup Singh, chronicling the Indian Navy’s History from 2001-10. This is the sixth volume of the Navy’s history, the first five having covered the period from 1945 to 2000.

Navy Day celebrated on December 4 by Indian Navy to commemorate its offensive actions in 1971 Bangladesh liberation war

The Navy Day commemorates the launch of Operation Trident, attack on the Pakistan Naval Headquarters of Karachi during the 1971 war. During the attack, three Vidyut-class missile boats, two anti-submarine vehicles and a tanker of the Indian Navy successfully sank the enemy’s minesweeper, a destroyer and an ammunition supply ship.

AP: Vijayawada enters international aviation map with Indigo flight to Singapore

Vijayawada will place its name on the global aviation map with its first international flight to Singapore. Low cost carrier IndiGo will operate non-stop flight services twice a week to Singapore from Vijayawada’s Gannavaram airport jointly with the Andhra Pradesh government.
