The Indian Government has launched a new mobile application “Janaushadhi Sugam”. The mobile app will allow the common people to search the Jan Aushadhi Kendras in their immediate vicinity.
What will the App do?
- The ?Janaushadhi Sugam? mobile application will have the option to provide the location of the nearest Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra.
- The app will have user-friendly options to locate nearby stores and will provide directions to the store’s location using the Google Map.
- It will also allow the user to perform a search for the various generic medicines available at the Janaushadhi Kendra and also analyze the available generic medicines by performing a product comparison with branded medicines on parameters like retail price difference & resulting savings.
- This mobile application will be made available on both the Android & iOS platforms and can be downloaded free of cost from the Google Play Store/Apple Store by the user.
Other announcements
- The Indian Government has also decided to price the Jan Ausadhi Suvidha Oxo-Biodegradable Sanitary Napkins at Rs 1.
- The earlier cost of these napkins was Rs 2.5
- This will ensure the 3S ?Swachhta, Swasthya and Suvidha? for the poor and the underprivileged females of the country.
- It was one of the poll promises of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2019 General Election and will ensure the fulfillment of the country’s vision of ?Affordable and Quality Healthcare? for all.
- These pads are oxo-biodegradable hence they do not linger in the ecosystems and are environment-friendly.
