NEEMO Project

NEEMO refers to NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations. It’s a NASA program for studying human survival in the Aquarius underwater laboratory in preparation for future space exploration. The laboratory is located near Key Largo, Florida, roughly 62 feet underwater and NASA has used it since 2001 for a series of missions, usually lasting 10 to 14 days, with research conducted by astronauts and other NASA employees. NEEMO project has rich history of underwater exploration, but the NEEMO project is looking to the future, training astronauts of the US space agency for a possible mission to an asteroid.
