An Indian American Sikh woman Harmeet Kaur Dhillon (47) from California was elected to an important position in the Republican Party at the United States national level.
She was elected as the newest national committee woman, a key position of the Republican National Committee.
Prior to this, she was vice chairman of the California GOP. She was the first woman elected to this position of vice chair of the California Republican Party.
About Harmeet Kaur Dhillon
- Dhillon was born in Chandigarh, India but was raised in rural North Carolina after her Sikh parents had migrated to US.
- By profession she is lawyer and is nationally recognised trial lawyer, boardroom advisor and advocate for corporate, individual, and institutional clients.
- As a lawyer she has practiced in New York, London, and San Francisco Bay Area and mainly has focused on federal and state commercial litigation and arbitration.
- Her particular emphasis is on unfair competition/trade secret misappropriation, intellectual property, complex contractual disputes, and First Amendment litigation etc.
