World Government Summit – 2018
The World Government Summit is the name of an annual event held in Dubai,UAE. It is a global platform dedicated to shaping the future of governments worldwide.
India was the ‘Guest of Honour’ country at the 2018 summit. In 2018 summit
- India’s Umang App has won award in Best m-Government Service Award for Accessible Government Category
- India’s Aadhaar won the best emerging technology award.
Umang, also known as Unified Mobile Application, is an all-in-one app launched by the Indian government which acts as a common platform for various government services such as gas booking, Aadhaar, crop insurance, EPF and National Pension System. The app was launched with the provisions of 43 government departments that grants access to 150+ services and has a target to reach 200 departments granting access to 1200+ services by December 2019.
