What is autocratic leadership?
Autocratic leadership is a form management where only one member of the entire organization is the leader and decision-maker of the whole organization. It is generally seen in small businesses with a few number of employees. It is successful where there is a need for quick decision-making. The leader is solely responsible for the decisions as no inputs or consultations are done with other members of the organization. The leader dictates all the terms and conditions and also distributes the responsibilities to the employees. There is no reward or recognition to boost the morale of the employees.
Thus despite the uses of quick decisions and complete control of the processes of the organization, it is seen to resemble dictatorship and thus low morale of the employees and also attrition.
