What is Air Mass in Geography?

Air Mass is a homogeneous mass of air covering over a considerable area of the surface of earth. Air masses are classified according to the regions from where they initially originate, e.g., tropical or polar, or according to whether they are of maritime or continental type. An air mass may also be classified, as tropical maritime, or polar continental.
