What are features of Continental Climate?

Continental Climate is the type of climate observed in the inner parts of the great continents, particularly in the intermediate or temperate zone of the northern hemisphere. Its influence also extends to eastern coasts of the continents and neighbouring islands that are exposed in winter to the prevailing winds from the interior.

It is a climate characterized by extremes of temperature, with minima and maxima occurring soon after the summer and winter Solstices respectively. In addition to the ·great range of temperatures observed, both seasonally, and diurnally other features of the climate are relatively small rainfall and low humidities.
