Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi (RAN) and Jansankhya Sthirata Kosh (JSK)

Government has approved the closure of two autonomous bodies viz. Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi (RAN) and Jansankhya Sthirata Kosh (JSK) and the functions of these two bodies are proposed to be vested in Department of Health & Family Welfare (DoHFW).

About Jansankhya Sthirata Kosh-Population stabilization fund

In June 2005 the JansankhyaSthirata Kosh (JSK) was set up by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, as an autonomous body duly registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.

The objective of JSK is to provide or undertake activities aimed to achieve population stabilization, at a level consistent with the needs sustainable economic growth, social development and environment protection, by 2045.

About Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi

Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi (RAN) was set up in 1997 under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The main purpose of RAN is to provide financial assistance to the patients living below poverty line, who are suffering from major life threatening diseases, to receive medical treatment at Government hospitals.
