Tamil Nadu hosts first Global Investors Summit

Tamil Nadu’s first Global Investors Summit (TNGIM 2015) has begun in Chennai to woo investors to invest in the state. It is first of kind investors summit in southern state of India is seeking to targeted investment commitment of one-lakh crore rupees.

Perumanna: India’s First Panchayat to declare its own water policy in Kerala

Perumanna Grama Panchayat in Kozhikode district of Kerala has become the first Panchayat in the State, to declare its own water policy. The water policy has been framed in the lines of the State government’s water policy declared in 2008.

Ibrahimpatnam: Interlinking of Godavari and Krishna River

Godavari River was formally interlinked with the Krishna River at Ibrahimpatnam near Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. State government has named this historic occasion as ‘Krishna-Godavari Pavitra Sangamam’ meaning holy confluence in Telugu.

Tenth World Hindi Conference held in Bhopal

On 14 September, Hindi Divas was observed. On this occasion, the Tenth World Hindi Conference was held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh with the theme of Hindi Jagat-Vistar and Sambhavnaye. It has been organised in Madhya Pradesh for the first time and held in India after a gap of 32 years . The first World Hindi Conference was held in 1975 at Nagpur.

Ladakh Festival celebrated in Leh

Week long annual Ladakh Festival was celebrated in Leh town in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. The festival has been organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism department in collaboration with the concerned stakeholders. The festival is celebrated to extend the short tourism season of Ladakh.

Haryana assembly passes Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2015

Haryana Assembly has passed Haryana Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2015 that seeks to fix matriculation as minimum educational qualification for elections to Panchayati Raj institutions (PRIs). It became second state in India after Rajasthan to fix educational and other qualifications for the candidates contesting Panchayat elections.

Andhra Pradesh launches e-Pragati

Andhra Pradesh has rechristened the AP State Enterprise Architecture (APSEA) as ‘e-Pragati’. The e-pragati will focus on achieving a unified and connected government with citizen-centricity at its core. Iti extends to 33 secretariat departments and over 300 government agencies in AP. It also seeks to provide a bouquet of 745 services in the government to customer (G2C), government to business (G2B), government to enterprise (G2E) and government to government (G2G) areas.

Odisha celebrates Nuakhai festival

Nuakhai is an agricultural festival mainly observed by people of Western Odisha in India. Nuakhai is observed to welcome the new rice of the season. According to the Hindu calendar it is observed on panchamitithi (the fifth day) of the lunar fortnight of the month of Bhadrapada or Bhaadra (August–September), the day after the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. This is the most important social festival of Western Odisha.

Haryana Abolishes Police Recruitment Board

Haryana legislative Assembly has passed Haryana Police (Amendment) Bill, 2015 to abolish the Police Recruitment Board in order to end the nepotism in the police recruitments in the state.
