August 27, 2009: 500,000 women to get traing through ITI in food process

Government of India in continue with its effort to create 10 million jobs by 2015, will provide food processing training to 500000 women in collaboration with ITI.

Minister for Food Processing Industries Subodh Kant Sahai in an interaction with Merchants Chamber of Commerce at Kolkata.
What else he said?
He said that government is also facilitating setting up of 350 food processing units. A state food processing ministers conference is scheduled on October 6, 2009. A vision document for 2015 aims to increase the size of the industry to around $210 billion apart from raising the level of perishable processing from the present 6 percent to 35 percent.
