‘World Radio Day’ observed on February 13
World Radio Day was observed across the globe on February 13 to celebrate radio as a medium; to improve international cooperation between broadcasters; and to encourage major networks and community radio alike to promote access to information and freedom of expression over the airwaves. This day was proclaimed on 3 November 2011 by UNESCO’s 36th General Conference.
- It was originally proposed by Spain.
