Go Tribal Campaign
- TRIFED had launched a “Go Tribal” campaign in June.
- Indigenous Products like tribal art and handlooms from the various parts of India will be marketed under the brand name “Tribes India”.
- To provide a wider sales platform for the various products under the Tribes India brand, the TRIFED has signed MoUs with online retailers like the Amazon, Flipkart etc.
TRIFED is Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED).
Other Measures for Tribal Welfare
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has also included a further 26 Minor Forest Produces in the ‘Mechanism for Marketing of Minor Forest Produce (MFP) through Minimum Support Price (MSP) and Development of Value Chain for MFP’. This will provide a better rate of return to the various tribal communities involved in the harvesting of such forest produce.
The Ministry is also arranging for better facilities for skill up-gradation and value addition for the MFPs in form for the Van Dhan Kendras which will provide a better monetary return to the tribal gatherers.
