UK plans to become Net Zero Carbon Emission Economy

The UK has unveiled a 2050 net zero emission target law. This makes Britain the first major G7economy to legislate with an end date for its contribution to global warming. The law puts a legally binding commitment for the UK to end its contribution to climate change in just over 30 years.

The UK government has set the target to ensure “net zero” greenhouse gases by 2050. This means emissions from homes, transport, farming and industry will have to be avoided completely or must offset by planting trees or sucking CO2 out of the atmosphere.
