U.K. company ‘Lagan Construction’ bags Maldives airport project
Maldives has chosen U.K.-based Lagan Construction to develop the Addu International Airport.
Maldives had last year cancelled a $511-million contract awarded to Indian infrastructure major GMR for upgrading and development of the Male International Airport.
The termination had led to a row with GMR taking the issue to an arbitration Court in Singapore. Currently, Maldives and GMR are in the process of working out a compensation package.
