Supreme Court stays Meghalaya HC contempt order against Shillong Times editor
The Supreme Court has issued notice and stayed Meghalaya High Court’s judgment against the Shillong Times editor Patricia Mukhim and publisher Shobha Chaudhuri guilty of contempt of court. The Bench of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and other Justices have stayed the order of the Meghalaya High Court, which had found two journalists of the Shillong Times guilty of contempt of court. Both Patricia Mukhim and Shobha Chaudhuri are fined with Rs. 2 lakh each.
