Suman Billa Appointed as Director at the UNWTO Madrid Headquarter

Senior Indian IAS officer of Kerela cadre, Suman Billa will join the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) as Director, Technical Cooperation and Silk Road Development at the D1 level at its headquarters in Madrid, Spain.
A 1996 batch IAS officer, he is currently a Joint Secretary in Union Ministry of Tourism. Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved his appointment and is expected to join UNWTO next week.
UNWTO also is known as the World Tourism Organization is a United Nations specialized agency founded in October 1975 is the leading international organization for the promotion of sustainable, universally accessible and responsible tourism.
