Ratan Tata honoured with Doctorate of Automotive Engineering by Clemson University

Ex-chairman of the Tata Group Ratan Tata has been honoured with Doctorate of Automotive Engineering by the Clemson University.
He was conferred with Doctorate for his contributions to the global automotive industry at the South Carolina Automotive Summit.

About Ratan Tata

  • Ratan Tata holds bachelor’s degree in architecture from Cornell University. He also has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
  • In 1962 he had joined the Tata Group. In 1981, he was named chairman of Tata Industries and led the group in various fields including transportation, consulting, communications, chemicals, hospitality and steel.
  • During his stint as chairman of Tata group, he was responsible for transforming the group into a strategy think tank and a promoter of new ventures in high technology businesses.
  • Ratan Tata serves as director on the boards of Alcoa Inc., Mondelez International.  He is also on the international advisory boards of, JP Morgan Chase, Rolls-Royce, Mitsubishi Corp., Temasek Holdings and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
