PM Modi inaugurates RLB Central Agriculture University

The newly constructed building of Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agriculture University which is one of its kind got inaugurated by the Prime Minister Shree Narendra Modi. The university is located in Jhansi and is a spectacular institute of the Bundelkhand region. PM’s Interaction with the university students followed after the inauguration.
About the University
Established in the year 2014 by the Government of India through the Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University Act- 2014. The act was passed by the Parliament in the same year. The university which conducted its first session in the year 2014 follows a bi-semester system that is two-semester per year. The university offers an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in agriculture, horticulture and forestry. Till now the academic and official work of the university was undertaken in the building of the Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi.
Abbreviated form of Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, IGFRI was established in the year 1962. It is a national institute which was opened with an aim to conduct basic, strategic, applied and adaptive research; development and training in forage production and its utilization. IGFRI has highly experienced and internationally trained human resources engaged in need-led, participatory, inter-disciplinary approaches.
