PK Sinha appointed Principal Advisor to Prime Minister
Shri PK Sinha who was working as the officer on special duty in the Prime Minister’s Office has been appointed the Principal Advisor to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
His appointment has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Shri PK Sinha is a 1977 Batch IAS officer from Uttar Pradesh Cadre.
PK Sinha completed his graduation in Economics from St. Stephens College, University of Delhi and postgraduation in Economics from Delhi School of Economics. He also holds the Masters Diploma in Public Administration and an M. Phil in Social Sciences.
PK Sinha as an IAS officer has held various assignments such as District Magistrate of Jaunpur and Agra, Commissioner of Varanasi, Secretary (Planning) and Principal Secretary (Irrigation), etc.
PK Sinha has served in the Energy and Infrastructure Sectors, such as Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Ministry of Power, and Ministry of Shipping during his tenure with Central government. He has specialized in the areas of Energy, Infrastructure, and Finance.
Appointments Committee of the Cabinet
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet is headed by Prime Minister and the Home Minister is the member of the committee. The Appointments Committee of the cabinet is responsible for making recommendations for the several important positions under the Government of India.
