PIL filed seeking directions to Govt and the two software giants Facebook Inc and Google Inc to "ensure proper accounting compliances as per RBI guidelines"

A PIL has been filed by former BJP ideologue K N Govindacharya (at present a patron of Rashtriya Swabhimaan Aandolan) which seeks directions to Govt and the two software giants Facebook Inc and Google Inc to “ensure proper accounting compliances as per RBI guidelines”.
The PIL looks for an order for retrieval of taxes from the websites on their income from operations in India. The Petition argued that the Facebook gross revenue for 2012 was $37 billion approx., but they are not paying due taxes to Indian government.
The PIL also seeks a course to ascertain safety of the data of 50 million Indian users, which was channelized “to the USA and is being used for commercial benefits in infringement of the Right To Privacy”.
The petition also sought a steering to the Centre to ascertain that government officers “do not use social networking websites via government computers” as it  may present threat to sensitive data and national computer network.
As per telecommunication minister’s statement in Parliament, the government of India losses $4 billion every year due to cyber crimes and many government websites were hacked in last 3 years.
