MoU signed to set up Kalam Centre for Science and Technology at CUJ

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked between Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Central University of Jammu (CUJ) for the establishment of Kalam Centre for Science and Technology (KCST) at the university. The MoU was signed in presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Key Highlights of MoU

MoU Objective: To undertake as well as facilitate multidisciplinary directed basic and applied research and technology development in identified research verticals. These research verticals would be namely- Computational System Security and Sensors.

Kalam Centre for Science and Technology (KCST):

It will be a world-class centre that will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment leading to increase in research scholars in these areas.

The centre will be a national asset and will contribute towards making India stronger and prosperous.

The DRDO under Union Ministry of Defence will be establishing a high-end research centre to promote quality research which in long run will create a pool of scientists from this region.

About Central University of Jammu (CUJ)

It is a Central government-funded university and was established under Central Universities Act 2009.

It was founded with the vision to contribute knowledge and technology innovation to the country and the world.
