Forbes magazine has enlisted the name of Indian Premier Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi in list of the top 20 most powerful persons in the world. As per the rankings main positions are as follows:

  • 1: US President Barack Obama
  • 2: German chancellor Angela Merkel
  • 3: Russian President Vladimir Putin
  • 4: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates
  • 9: General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Xi Jinping
  • 12: Sonia Gandhi
  • 19: Manmohan Singh
  • 20: Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin
  • 21: Iran’s Supreme leader Ali Khamenei
  • 28: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Ashfaq Kayani
  • 30: UN chief Ban Ki-moon
  • 37: Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani
