Katerina Sakellaropoulou sworn in as first female president of Greece

Katerina Sakellaropoulou, who recently sworn in, is the first female president of Greece. She was a former High court judge.

Before two months, she was unanimously elected as the President of the country by the Greece Parliament. The swearing-in ceremony took place before selected lawmakers and journalists without public participation, as part of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
