Kalaburagi airport inaugurated under UDAN

Chief Minister of Karnataka, B.S.Yediyurappa inaugurated the Kalaburagi airport in northern Karnataka.
The airport spread across 742 acres, is built at a cost of Rs 172 crore. Air connectivity to the Sun City, Kalaburagi gives hopes of more development by attracting investors and industries to explore the region also known as Kalyan Karnataka, a group of 6 districts- Raichur, Kalaburagi, Bellary, Bidar, Yadgir and Koppal. It gives a boost to Karnataka to rectify the regional imbalance of air connectivity.
UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) is a regional connectivity scheme launched in 2017 by the Government of India.
