Indians among top 5 foreign real estate buyers in the US
As per report titled “2013 Profile of International Home Buying Activity”, Indians are among the top five foreigners buying real estate in the US, even as there has been a decrease in foreigners acquiring properties in the US.
As per the report:
- The top five purchasers of real estate are Canada (23%), China (12%), Mexico (8%), India (5%) and the United Kingdom (5%).
- These five countries accounted for approximately 53% of transactions, with Canada and China the fastest growing sources over the years.
- California, Tennessee, Connecticut and New Jersey are the favorite destination states for buyers from India.
- Median price of the properties bought was USD 300,000.
