India, Slovenia amend DTAA to bring information exchange under ambit
India and Slovenia have signed a protocol to amend the bilateral Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA).
The protocol was signed by Ambassador of India to Slovenia Sarvajit Chakravarti and the Slovenian Minister of Finance Dusan Mramor in Ljubljana.
Key facts
- The amendment protocol seeks to broaden the pact to include exchange of information to curb tax evasion.
- The protocol will broaden the scope of the existing framework of exchange of tax-related information.
- It will further help to curb tax evasion and tax avoidance between the two countries and will also enable mutual assistance in collection of taxes.
The DTAA between both countries was signed for avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income.
