India ranked 4th on Global Terrorism Index

As per a newly released index prepared by the Australia-based Institute for Economics & Peace, India stands among one of the top 5 nations most- hit by terrorism in 2011. As per the index the rankings are:

  1. Iraq
  2. Pakistan
  3. Afghanistan
  4. India
  5. Yemen

Only 31 of the 159 countries ranked have not experienced a terrorist attack since 2001.

The study showed that number of incidents of terrorism has increased after Iraq war.
