India pledges to produce Carbon-free Energy
Vice president M Venkaiah Naidu in the 6th International Exhibition and Conference GRIDTECH 2019 in New Delhi has announced that India has pledged to produce carbon-free energy. A target has been set to produce 175-gigawatt of non-conventional new energy till the year 2022. Out of this 175 gigawatt, 100-gigawatt will be solar power, 60-gigawatt wind power and 15-gigawatt will be linked to other non-conventional sources. The country is planning to develop solar cities and urban local bodies to adopt renewable energy technologies.
