India creates history

India has become the first Asian country in the world to successfully launch Mangalyaan in Martian orbit in a record time of 3 hours. It has also achieved a remarkable feat of becoming the first country in the world to be able to do so in the first attempt. NASA has congratulated ISRO on the great and proud launch.
The phenomenal success has placed India amongst the elite club members of Mars explorers-the likes of US, European Space Agency, former Soviet Union. ISRO Mars Orbital Mission started orbiting the red planet at 7:47am and after an initial delay of 12 minutes, depending on the time lag between the radio signals took to travel 680 million kilometres, scientists at ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network in Bangalore felt their heartbeats rise with extreme joy.
The challenging task of the Mars orbit insertion set-in at 4:17 am when the spacecraft switched over to the medium gain antenna for emitting and receiving radio signals. The operation was started at scheduled time 07:17:32 am when it’s Liquid Apogee Motor (LAM) was fired for 24 minutes 16 seconds. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present at the occasion to congratulate the scientists and share moments of their tremendous success.
The world witnessed and praised the marvellous success of the organization. Notes of congratulations flooded the internet as people from all quarters and parts of the world shared this joy with India.
