Union Cabinet has approved Kartarpur corridor project  from Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district to International Border with all modern amenities and facilities will be implemented with Central Government funding. It will provide a smooth and easy passage to pilgrims to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib throughout the year.
President Ramnath Kovind meets Australia’s PM Scott John Morrison in Sydney

President Ram Nath Kovind addressed Australia India business council in Sydney. He unveiled the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Paraamatta and addressed the Indian community gathered in large number.
Term of commission (headed by Justice G. Rohini) examining the issue of sub-categorization of OBCs in the central list extended till May 31, 2019

The commission was mandated to examine the extent of inequitable distribution of benefits of reservation among the castes or communities in the central list of OBCs.
SC sets aside Madras HC judgment granting 196 marks to candidates who took NEET-UG exam in Tamil language

NEET-UG examination will be held by the newly constituted National Testing Agency instead of the CBSE awarding 196 grace marks to the NEET-UG 2018 aspirants who had opted to write the test in Tamil language on account of error in translation.
CCEA approves continuation “Atmosphere & Climate Research-Modelling Observing Systems & Services (ACROSS)” scheme

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved continuation of the nine sub-schemes of the umbrella scheme “Atmosphere & Climate Research-Modelling Observing Systems & Services (ACROSS)” that will provide improved weather, climate and ocean forecast and services, thereby ensuring transfer of commensurate benefits to the various services like Public weather service, disaster management, Agro-meteorological Services, Aviation services, Environmental monitoring services, Hydro-meteorological services, climate services, tourism, pilgrimage, power generation, water management, Sports and adventure.
Cabinet approves setting up of Medical College at Silvassa in the UT of Dadra and Nagar Haveli

The Cabinet has approved the Allied and Healthcare Professions Bill, 2018 for regulation and standardization of education and services by allied and healthcare professionals and setting up of Medical College in Silvassa in Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
