Centre approves 27 new integrated cold chain projects under PM Kisan SAMPADA Yojana
These projects were approved by Inter-Ministerial Approval Committee chaired by the Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal. Worth Rs.743 crore, these projects will help increase efficiency and sustainability of India’s food supply chain.
Andhra Pradesh to set up crop insurance firm
Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority provided the approval for the state government to establish AP General Insurance Commany. This is to run the state’s crop insurance scheme.
Coal India Limited mulls investment on projects related to coal evacuation, infrastructure, project development, exploration and clean coal technologies. This is to achieve the target of producing 1 billion tonnes of coal by 2023-24.
Defence Minister to embark on 3-day visit to Russia
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to visit Moscow from 3rd to 5th September to attend combined meeting of defence ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, Collective Security Treaty Organisation and Commonwealth of Independent States member states to commemorate 75th anniversary of World War II victory.
Government issues around 12.5 lakh domicile certificates in J&K so far
Around 12.5 lakh Domicile Certificates have been issued in Jammu and Kashmir so far, with over 99 per cent being erstwhile Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) holders or Kashmiri Pandit migrants.
FB announces measures to curb misuse during upcoming Myanmar elections
The tech giant, while announcing measures, committed itself to safeguard integrity of Myanmar elections on its platform. It also informed the formation of a team with members from civil society dedicated to Myanmar. Measures include removing misinformation and hate-speech that could lead to voter suppression or damage electoral process.
China faces massive food crisis
Massive floods and pandemic has caused severe food crisis in the country. The 2.0 version of the 2013 ‘Clean Your Plate Campaign’ was launched by Xi Jinping to put public stop to food wastage.
