Complete automation of Fair Price Shops by March ’14: Centre to States

The Central Govt has directed all the States and UTs to finish automation of Fair Price Shops (FPS) by March 2014.

• The automation of FPS is part of the exercise of end-to-end computerisation of Public Distribution System, PDS.
• At present, there are over 5.06 lakh FPS in India.
