Chen Guangcheng leaves US Beijing embassy after threats to family
Chinese activist Chen Guangcheng left the US embassy in Beijing after pressure and threats to his family. Chen left the US embassy for hospital treatment, but has since held that he fears for his life, and appealed for help from US President Barack Obama.
In spite of the news of Chen Guangcheng’s escape from house arrest being extensively reported in international media, Chinese state media and micro-blogs are strongly controlled, and many Chinese even don’t know who is Chen Guangcheng .
