Appointments made on 16th & 17th December 2019

  • Lieutenant General Manoj Mukund Naravane to be the 27th Army chief of India.
    Lt Gen Naravane is currently serving as the 40th Vice Chief of Army Staff and was heading the Eastern Command of the Army, will succeed General Bipin Rawat, who is due to retirement on 31st of December.
    Lt Gen Naravane became the 3rd officer from the Sikh Light Infantry regiment of the Indian Army to become the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army.
  • Nagaland Governor Ravindra Narayana Ravi to hold additional charge as the Governor of Meghalaya. R.N Ravi took oath as the Governor of Meghalaya on Tuesday, 17th December 2019 due to the absence of leave taken by Tathagata Roy over his controversial tweet that led to protests surrounding the Raj Bhavan at Meghalaya, last Friday.
  • Sridhar Patra appointed as the chairman-cum-managing director(CMD) of the National Aluminium Company(NALCO).
  • IAS officer Ravi Mittal took charge as the Secretary of the Information and Broadcasting ministry.
    Ravi Mittal is a 1986 batch IAS officer from Bihar cadre, took charge from IAS officer, Amit Khare, who has been appointed as the Secretary of Department of Higher Education.
