A big ice chunk might break from Antarctica’s Brunt ice shelf

The Brunt ice shelf had 2 large cracks. The cracks are now opening further in the past few years. When they break open a ice berg of 660 square miles, almost twice the size of New York will be released into the sea. The Brunt ice shelf is very crucial as the HAlley research station is located here. The 2 cracks are far apart. The shelf will break when they intersect.
