What was Cachar Levy?

Assam rifles is oldest and National security guards is latest among the Indian Security Organisations. Assam rifles was raised originally in 1835 as Cachar Levy. Border security force was established in 1965, central Reserve Police Force was established in 1939 and its original name was Crown Representative,s Police. The present name was given in 1949. Indo Tibetan Border Police was raised in 1962 in the wake of Attack from China, National Security Guards was set up in 1984 to handle terrorist and terror activities.
