To encourage the girl’s education in U.P, the Govt. of U.P started a new scheme named “Kanya Vidya Dhan Yojna” from 2004-05 in state sectors. Under this scheme a sum of Rs. 20,000/- will be given to each girl who passed intermediate examination- 2004 from U.P Board and belong to the family living below to the poverty line in rural and urban areas. In the annual plan 2005-06, a sum of Rs. 200.00 crore has been proposed to benefit one lakh girls belonging to the family living below the poverty line in rural and urban areas.
An outlay of Rs.28184.16 lakh had been proposed for the secondary education for the year 2005-06.
