V.V.S. Laxman, announced his retirement from international cricket, ending a magnificent career spanning 16 years. Laxman played 134 Tests, smashed 8781 runs at an average of 45.97. He hit 17 hundreds and 56 half centuries and became famous with the sobriquet Very Very Special.
