The Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA) are a series of defence relationships established by a series of bilateral agreements between the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore (all Commonwealth members). The FPDA was signed in 1971. The FPDA will allow five states to consult each other in the event of external aggression or threat of attack against Peninsular Malaysia or Singapore.
