Consider the following statements about Particulate Matter 2.5 (PM2.5):
- These are emitted during the combustion of solid and liquid fuels
- PM 2.5 can only be detected using an electron microscope
- Afforestation can be very effective in minimizing the amount of PM2.5 in the atmosphere
Which of the above statements is/are correct?
First and second statements are correct. Third statement is incorrect because Deforestation is not the major cause for increase in PM2.5; neither can Afforestation help in decreasing the PM2.5 level. The only way to cut its reduction is to cut its emission sources like cars, factories, waste burning and thermal power plants.
