Which of the following regions of India is best suited to cotton cultivation?

Black soil is considered best for cotton cultivation. Black soil is mainly found in Deccan Plateau. So, most of the cotton cultivation is confined to this region, however, cotton also grows well in alluvial soils of the Satluj-Ganga plain and red and laterite soils of the peninsular region. About 70% of total cotton is produced in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.
