Consider the following statements:
- The altitude of tropopause is more in summer than in winter
- Temperature inversion is very much frequent in troposphere
Which of the above statements is/are correct?
Both are correct statements
The height of tropopause is variable with time and latitude. The height generally varies from 16 km at equator to 8 km at the poles. The change in height is due to difference in heating of the area. The tropospheric zone is capped in most places by a temperature inversion level where the fall in temperature with increasing height is replaced by a rise in temperature with height.
