A fruit faIse if any part of the flower other than the ovary has contributed towards its formation. Apple, pear and strawberryare NOT a true fruits as most of the fruits is an overgrown thalamus. On the other hand, ground nut plants have cliestogamous flowers which come out from the base of the stem and enter into the ground like roots and their tips after self pollination develop in to true fruits.
