Donyi Polo, which literally means “Sun Moon” is a religion followed by many of the tribal groups of Arunachal Pradesh, such as Adis, Apatanis, Nishis, Hill Miris, Mishings etc. Similarly, there is a religion in Manipur called “Sanamahi” which is followed by Meitheis. On the line of the Brahmosamaj, in Meghalaya a faith developed which is called Seng Khasi Movement. This is a resurrect tribal religion that took shape in the 19th century. It is also a torchbearer of “Niamtre” religion of the tribal masses of Meghalaya.
