Which Indian city became the first to get Water Metro?
Kochi became the first Indian city where water connectivity has been developed as a feeder service to the Metro rail. New boats used to provide this service give the same experience as that of Metro and hence are called Water Metro. The project is being jointly developed by the Kerala government and German funding agency KfW under the 'climate-friendly urban mobility' plan. Indo-German Bilateral Cooperation is responsible for financing the project with estimated cost of Rs 747-crore.
