Guetapens

Guetapens is an French / English word that means ‘ambush, snare or trap’ as per Merriam Webster dictionary. It was recently in news because it is the winning word of National Spelling Bee of US 2012. Indian-American 14-year-old Snigdha Nandipati, has won the prestigious Spelling Bee title along with two of her compatriots who bagged second and third spots. They won this title by correcting spelling Guetapens.
