Chotu said on August 7th, 2012

Sir,

It would have been much clearer, if you can provide the schedule and order of subjects that you will be dealing. So that we can synch our schedule with yours.

Thank you

GKToday said on August 8th, 2012

@ Rishi Raj Khandelwal

We begin from September 1, 2012 and payments can be done now.

GKToday said on August 8th, 2012

@ Chotu,

Giving you a year long schedule at a time when we have still not received the calender of exams by UPSC, would not be a practical idea. What I believe is that you shall be able to sync your studies with the programme as you know in advance what we are going to do for the next two months or so.

tanvmar said on August 8th, 2012

Hi sir,

Is history is not included..??
or we have to follow the modules uploaded on website.?

amit singh said on August 8th, 2012

Dear sir,

In earlier notification regarding target 2013, essay was mention but in this notice , essay is not mention as one of contents of programme...kindly expedite..

sashi said on August 8th, 2012

hello sir, i would really like 2 join GKToday's 1yr target.. but i wanted to have an idea about dis course so that i cud fully rely on it.. sir could u put up some previous yrs modules so that v get some idea..i do have full faith on dis site sir but i really wanted some rough idea.. thank u sir..

GKToday said on August 8th, 2012

Yes, History is included. What is there on website is basics of Indian History. We are taking GS Mains papers also, so obviously, this would not suffice.

GKToday said on August 8th, 2012

@amit singh,

Lets make lesser promises in public domain so that there is always a possibility of delivering more. I hope you would trust me.

GKToday said on August 8th, 2012

@ Sashi,

You need to get in touch with me at contact details given in the site.

karthick said on August 8th, 2012

hello sir,may i know the frequency of current affairs materials through this programme??weekly supplements available?

deviitd said on August 8th, 2012

sir if i join this programe and if upsc change pattern then how the change will be adjusted by u

GKToday said on August 8th, 2012

@ Karthick,

If we believe that next year Prelims is in May, we have 32 weeks till April 30, 2013. In these 32 weeks I will give you approx. 25 documents on current affairs. Then, from Prelims towards Mains, you get another 15 Modules on Current GS targeting questions of Mains.

GKToday said on August 8th, 2012

@ deviitd,

I am starting this programme on the assumption that pattern of Mains 2013 will not change. If there is a change in mains pattern, I believe that you shall get enough time to prepare. Accordingly some modules may be altered / added / removed, because General Studies is something which would become more important with the change of the pattern. So far there are no official indications of change in 2013. In 2014 there are crucial elections so this is our personal view / assumption that before 2015, there may not be a change.

Nooour said on August 8th, 2012

Sir,
Will it possible for you to have test series of paper 2 of Prelims for our practice?

GKToday said on August 8th, 2012

@ Noopur
For Paper II, formally there is no support available from our side. This is because we can not become expert trainers of something which we honestly don't know much as of now.
But, since the programme is interactive and all members use a forum platform, some informal strategy can be worked out. So, there is no formal promise from our side for support in Paper II.

Harsh said on August 8th, 2012

Hello Sir,

Thanks for providing us all the well mannnered details topics on this site. I want to join this programme for the next year. Sir actually I am a working man, so can I do it with your programme? and what extra I will have to look into other things?

Thanks and Regards
Harsh

Rahul Chaudhary said on August 8th, 2012

Any way to pay the fees via credit card? I, unfortunately, do not not have access to net banking.

GKToday said on August 8th, 2012

@ Harsh,

Many of the members are working professionals, the benefit is that the documents and tests are available on web and so it may help you. Regarding what extra you have to cover, the answer needs bit elucidation.
Prelims now a days have become much more crucial than mains , because in the first instance they screen out the non-serious as well as many of the really serious candidates. 2 years back when I started Target 2011, the crucial question for us was that "maximum questions should come from what we have studied in a year". But today, it is not a question, because almost everything that was asked in prelims was discussed in my documents. But, then the real question today is that how to make members commit minimum mistakes in exam? This can not be addressed if there is no equal hardworking from member's side also. That is why, while reading my documents, you shall be taken to assignments and practice tests very often. If you have slight doubt , post it there.

I believe that UPSC is not about spoon-feeding. Mailing my documents is just a part of the programme, you have to follow them. But apart from that , I shall make you do a lot of homework and that is where , success lies. To do homework, you need to be active and this is what extra I am looking for in your efforts.

GKToday said on August 8th, 2012

@ Rahul Chaudhary,

Unfortunately, we don't have e-commerce platform.

Harsh said on August 8th, 2012

Rahul Chaudhary said on August 8th, 2012

Thanks for the reply sir. I am really interested in this program. If I am not asking for too much, can I have a glance at a sample of your past year material to see how the documents are structured and presented? Needless to say, thanks for making this site indispensable for all IAS aspirants.

amisra said on August 8th, 2012

Hi!
I could not make it to the mains this year, however, I did not want to miss upon your mains material and hence, have joined your mains program for 2012. I must admit that your notes reflect the diligence of my childhood teachers and fosters a confidence that I am due the right way. However, with announcement of this Target2013 program, It a would be a course indispensable for me. Please indicate if some/any part of this new course overlaps with the ongoing one. Also please enlighten me on whether I will have to enroll separately for this course or it may be augmented in some way, including the fee structure.
Once again, for myself, working 8am to 5pm everyday, I find your course very well tailored and applaud the design and quality of you material.

GKToday said on August 8th, 2012

@ amisra,

the ongoing programme is for mains 2012. The quality and approach would be taken forward to cover the sources which we have been covering so far till 25th September for your mains programme.
We begin the Target 2013 Programme from September and this will target the core fundamentals of static subjects focusing on the most complicated questions framed by UPSC on very basic & relevant topics. So, content wise, they are different, the only thing is the initial documents in Target 2013 would be short so that members get familiar with our approach and become active and interested by the time we conclude Mains Programme. Further, all future programmes, if any, would be commencing from September, so that we utilize the basic time frame needed successfully.

Pradip said on August 8th, 2012

Sir,I am an ardent follower of your site for last three years, you r doing a tremendous job,i will surely enroll for the course within a few days but one question .....we need a lot of practice for mains, how come we will get our practice answers evaluated through the forum?i.e. how do we know that our answer standards for mains is upto the mark?Plz reply...

aravindapenmetcha said on August 8th, 2012

very glad to join this program. sir please let me know whether essay for mains will be covered in this.
i would like to know that whether GS mains will be covered from the beginning or later. i mean will it be in parallel with prelims.

GKToday said on August 9th, 2012

@Pradip,

As I said in one of the above comments that UPSC is not about spoon feeding. Writing mains answers needs two way approach. On the one side there are 2/5 markers which are awareness / memory oriented many a times. If you know about "Super-continent Amasia" , definitely you can write about it in 20-30 words. Then for longer questions, UPSC does not look for terrific writers in mains GS. They just want to see if you have consistency in your thought or ideas and they way you present them. This all would be easy when you are made to write your thoughts and read others ideas also.

Harsh said on August 9th, 2012

Hello Sir,

Should I refer any other of Histroy/Civics/Geo/Eco Books apart from the material that you will be providing to us? or your notes will be more enough?

Thanks and Regards
Harsh

Mayuresh said on August 9th, 2012

I am happy that I will finally be able to organize my studies through your program. I have a request sir, many of the students that have joined your program might be from a very remote place, like me. So I request u to atleast provide the book list associated with this program 15 days in advance. I am residing in a forest and there will be many candidates like me, who are from very small town. it's very difficult for us to get books here, even flipkart takes around 20 days to deliver, we have to go to cities that consumes a huge amount of time due to poor connectivity of our residing place. I am just concerned coz suppose u are going to give an assignment tomorrow and I am unable to manage the book in short period of time, then it might create a delay in completion of assignment. This will be a great help to all of us sir. .

GKToday said on August 9th, 2012

@ Harsh,
One side of the coin is to have "enough info" and another side is to save you from "Information Overload", in today's times, when too much information overload kills your success chances. Both sides of the coin should be given equal importance. Let me begin, I will give advanced info, what else is needed. One more thing, I usually have 700-800 aspirants registered with me. "Collective intelligence" matters a lot, that too at a place where success ratio in prelims has been very high. In Target 2013, your batchmates are very very serious aspirants from all over India. Rest the new members who wish to join would need to 'trust upon gktoday' because without that there is no existence of my programme.

Harsh said on August 9th, 2012

Sir My concern was not to raise a question on your material or modules, that I have full belief, my concern was I should not miss anything before exam nothing else because we have a limited number of attempts for this exam.
Thanks for your valuable inputs.

~Harsh

Hello sir,
I have a doubt about this programme.

Will the newsletter content related to current affairs which is delivered now through email be included as a part of the module or is it separate from these modules?

If joining the programme saves me time by just reading the printable pdfs than website the now and then(though it is free) I am willing to register for this programme .

GKToday said on August 10th, 2012

@ Sagar
One aspect of the programme is make gktoday content available to you in pdf documents. Obviously, the monthly pdf files would be compiled from gktoday current affairs and would be made accessible to you. They are different from Target 2013 material and modules, which target your 100 questions of UPSC Prelims 2013.

vivek said on August 10th, 2012

Im new user to gktoday, im using it since last 3 months and i hv become great fan of this site.but still i hav not joined any programme.
Now i hv decided to join target 2013 programme with full trust on this site. But sir i want to ask u, is there any need to download monthly current affairs which is placed daily on this site OR will it be included in the current affairs modules of target 2013 programme ? I want to know because its really time consuming exercise to download pdf files frequently and get hard copies. If all this content is part of the programme, we can avoid overlapping too..

nirav.gktoday said on August 12th, 2012

Hello Sir,

Thanks a lot for coming with such an amazing website for all of us,

I need ur expert comment on my Query,

Q. We give so much emphasis on prelim exam by preparing from say Sept to Apr every year i.e. 8 months for just to just out correct answer from given option, and we have only 4 months i.e jun to Sep/Oct, to prepare for the exam which really matters when getting AIR, I understand that we cover majority of syllables while preparing for prelim, but to write a full length descriptive answer in Main examination is a different ball game all to gather,

I need ur comment on how to trasform our approach in such a short period for the thing which matters the most, UPSC Civil service Main exam.

Waiting for your comments...

Dear Sir,
The subjects covered in your Target-2013 program do not include Ecology and Environment, will it be a part of Indian geography or not ? As this topic plays a very crucial role in the CS preliminary exam and every CS aspirant has observed in the 2011 and 2012 CS preliminary exam.
Please elucidate sir.
